Pick An Essay Redux

I asked early on, "A question to think about for later, while reading the book: 'If a theist were to say "ok, I'm interested in your point of view, and I'm willing to read ONE essay from the collection", which essay would you pick?'"

Having finished the book and taken some time to think about it, I have a "favorite" essay; it is Inersoll, "GOD IN THE CONSTITUTION". I find it painfully relevant at a time when we have a president and...

I've received numerous emails from members saying they have read the book, but don't feel any need to comment on the boards. In some ways the book is preaching to the choir. The consensus seems to be that the essays were very good, but most of us are beyond the stage where this stuff is new and exciting.

I don't see a reason to invite S.T. Joshi to a personal chat session with us this time. He is the editor of the book and he did write a fantastic introduction, but the book is a...

What Have I Learned?

I plan to assemble some of the things I have learned from Joshi to post here. The real meaning of "Agnosticism" and the 1820 attempt to force god into our constitution are two that come immediately to mind. In the mean time, does anyone else have specific concepts or facts that you have learned by reading this book?
