The city spread itself out over delta, built up levees to 8 ft or higher, and left itself vulnerable to an Act of Nature. Why build on it?   and when you build up the sides of a river, it makes the river flow faster.... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Collapse museum exhibit ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I read about this in a magazine.  The book, Collapse, is now the inspiration for a museum exhibit at the Natural History museum in Los Angeles. Being an East Coast girl, I won't be able to make it.  Also, the review said that the book was better. According to the article, the exhibit wasn't well signed and only had displays on a few of the cultures mentioned in the book.  <br>
